RE: Keeping Dog cool in car

Walmart's sells all kinds of 12Volt fans, clip on's, self contained and what have you starting a 10 bucks. Leaving him in the car can become quite costly if the humane society catches up with you. I know the K-9 units around where I live use a fan mounted on metal grating that fill almost the hole window to provide air to there dogs. I know I wouldn't be leaving him in any vehicle unattended. RE: convection oven???

No specail pots or pans. It's used mostly for bakeing. But a lot use it for every thing. Use the same temps, just cut your cooking time by 1/2 to 1/3, each over is a little different. If you bake a cake so say, you can use tooth picks like you mom did, that will tell you when then done. Note the time, and the time it would have taken in a conventional over. You can use this time as your base. Good luck and happy burning Bill

RE: Stinky Island Sink

Get a dog and blame him, it's always worked for me. But in the mean time put some of that blue or whatever treatment you use for black tank. When you say the vent cap, you are talking about the cheater vent cap under the sink. You have also cleaned the trap that is under the sink. You can also try leting the hot water flow thru it for a few minuets. You can put some bleach down the drain, about 1/2 of a cup. That will kill anything that is alive down there. Gooderest luck Bill

RE: Would you do it?

So according to Cruiserjs, that would be about 9 days to Fairbanks. Once they get to Anchorage they could slow down some and take there time. Then come down thru Vancouver in to Washington. I think it is due-able my only concern would be the condiction of there coach, being used and not fully aware of any problems that have be fudged over to make look good to sell it would be my only concern. But they'll know how they stand after a few hundred miles, I'm sure the family will know when they get asked to mail gram them more money for the transmission, LOL. But the bottom line is they have enough time if they leave shortly, and the cost of gas isn't going to get any cheaper. It is a once in lifetime trip. and they have to be NUTS to think this up. But what the H>< I'm one of the biggest nuts out there when it comes to kind of stuff. LOL. Bill

RE: Onan microlite 4000 fuel pump

You have more then a 1/4 of gas You have changed the filters and made sure of fuel direction of the filers is OK You have checked the oil level and oil level safety switch. You have run a temp power line to fuel pump to provide a proven source of power to validate the fuel pump and the integrity of the other line. The points and condenser have been checked. The fuel bowl cleaned Spark plug changed or cleaned. The governor and choke are not making it shout down. Sure some can add some more to this list. Bill

RE: V10 Excursion first trip results and MPG

I believe you will find there is little you can do to improve it that would pay back for the cost of the mod. Just a note, I believe that year was the last year for the spark plug and believe manifold problem. From what I understand the plugs would blow stripping the threads. I was also noted that the manifold bolts would snap. So it was recommended that it be allowed to cool down for a few minuets before shutting the engine down. I'm sure a load of others will chime in to correct me if wrong. You just might want to do a search on the V-10. Good Luck and happy trucking Bill

RE: What would you do?

I you did right, you might have complained when items were being knocked over. Kicking the dog is breaker. You should have taken the dog to the vets for a full exam and sent them the bill. JM2Cents Bill It's against the law in all the states I know of, cruelty to animals that is.

RE: NO HOT WATER

Sounds to me, you still in winter by-pass as mentioned above. There are some valves on the back side of the hot water heater, you get to it from inside. The direction of handle is a good indication of the direction of flow. If you haven't change them in the spring then your still in by-pass, and your hot water heater my be cooked if you lite it up dry. The gas side should be ok hopefully. The electric side will be toast if the heater was dry. Open the safety valve and see if any water comes out. If it does you might be ok. Bill

RE: Water Pump Surging

That is normal, the pressure switch comes on, the pump comes on, it's designed to pump so much a minuet. You have the facet restricted, the pump shuts off. Pressure drops, pump comes back on. Will cycle on and off. Bill

RE: What is the best way to watch tv on my laptop?

Stay away form those PC-TV programs, unless you wish to read sub titles. I found them to be a waste of time. You also need high speed Internet. There are thousands of different shows as promised. Church bible schools, in Hindu, Spanish, and two hundred other nationalities. Of course the Police Crime Channel was always nice but I never quite got into the Philippine Languish. One channel did have a nice view of cars going over a bridge somewhere in CA. Guess that was one of the few American channels. There is a great Chinese channel with American subtitles, good movies, there actors can jump 200 feet in a single bound. JMHO Bill

RE: TV Conversion from CRT to Flat Screen

There are quite a few that have. For the most part it's finding a LCD that will fit in the hole. After that it is up to your imagination on how to proceed. Most units have four buttons on the bottom side of the console. These buttons pop off and you will find screws holding the bottom to the sides of the cabnet. Remove the screws and the bottom falls off. Then depending on the rig and manufactor the Existing TV is usearly held in place with a metal band the is also screwed into the case of the TV. What you do from here is up to you. some folks make a new interrior to the cabnet with trims and all. Others just find a piece of plywood, cut to fit hole and mount one of them mounting plates on it and hang the TV on that with a bungie cord to keep it in place. I have remmoved my bottom to see whats involved and decided to wait. I have all the tools need to do what has to be done. Just lack the strenght to handle the old TV getting it out without being crushed. LOL.... Bill

RE: Wives!! Let your husbands accept Help ;)

You know a few hundred years ago they had a device for wives like the one you mentioned. It was a metal cage that went over the head and held the mouth shut, it also had a gag device mounted in it. Perhaps are forefathers were better off then we are today. I don't know, you be be the judge. I would have gotten out of the truck after ten minuets or so and handed the keys to the person making the loudest verbal racket. JMHO Bill

RE: Long Travel and water

The weight and it's effect on gas mileage is almost a none issue. What would be more important to me would be: 1. Will water be available to me when I get there. 2. Will the water be of fair to good quality, not the sulfur or tinted variety. 3. Will my tank fair the drive, i.e. straps and supports. 4. Distance I will be going. If a few days more water, if a few hours less water. You have to be your own gage. But I do keep a few gallons on board for toilet and hand washing, as a minim. And remember that water will eventually end up in hold tank. JMHO Bill

RE: Another Assault on RV Parking

I can understand the locale residents complaining. What I can't understand is the "ME and I" attitude of those people making the complaints. My daughter lives in Reston VA. It's not a place I would enjoy to live. She loves it. She also a book of rules and regulations on for living in Reston. There the it seems the people realized they needed a place for the toys so to say and they didn't want them in there drive ways or streets. There they provide a gated area where you can park your trailer, RV, boats and what have U's. They must be registered and inspected so it doesn't turn into a junk yard. But they made a rule and made concessions for the rule. But I also understand the communities where they are banned (I am not at the present time). Know they also pay taxes and in many hide forms. Like road tax every time I buy gas, every time Pay a toll, every time I buy new hose for the RV there is a sales tax, the annual Registration fee. I won't mind so much but this money goes into a general fund is used to support the same roads I would not allowed to park on. Sounds a little uneven to me, and I feel if a community wish to ban or restrict my rights then they should provide an alternative that would be for the betterment or equal treatment to both sides of the argument.
